Planes, trains, and automobiles. And ferries! I’m flying out to Vancouver Island tomorrow. From there, I begin my BC tour with a show on Thursday night at StudioLive! in Cumberland.

All the gigs are really different – there are theatres, cafes, a chocolate store, an outdoor concert series…even a performance as part of the Sunday Celebration at a Centre for Spiritual Living. I’m looking forward to exploring a province that I’ve never seen outside of its largest city. If you know anyone on the west coast, please spread the word!
I’ll be rolling home in a couple of weeks, courtesy of the VIA Rail On Board Entertainment Program, with three days of performances on The Canadian as it crosses the country from Vancouver to Toronto.

I met Hélène Nicole last fall at a house concert in the west end of Toronto. As it turned out, we were both heading out to Northern Ontario at the same time on our respective tours and even managed to meet up again in Thunder Bay.
Now Hélène is using the energy and ingenuity she put into her live performances to open a new cafe in the Beaches neighbourhood of Toronto. I’ll be playing a house concert in her new space on Saturday, May 17, with part of the proceeds going towards the cost of the cafe license. Come out for a night of music before I take off to BC in June!
