All kinds of acronyms and admiration

I got to see lots of old friends and cheer them on while they blew showcase rooms away with their talents. I also got some long-awaited face time with folks I had only met online – I love the three dimensional connection. The panels I attended were informative and inspiring. Late night OCFF showcases

I’m about to head to Mississauga for the Ontario Council of Folk Festivals conference. On the way, I’ll be stopping at an elementary school in the city to work with a group of grade three students as part of the Art Beat outreach program.
If you’re conference-bound too, I hope you’ll stop by some of the late night showcases at the Delta Meadowvale. I’ll be playing in the following rooms:
Friday:
12:40am – Room 312 – The Storytellers Room
2:00am – Room 205 – La La Land
Saturday:
12:20am – Room 312 – The Storytellers Room
The Storytellers Room is run by Jim Dorie from Nova Scotia and the whole lineup features some of my favourite East Coasters (and beyond), like Kev Corbett, Gabrielle Papillion, and Amanda LeBlanc. I have a 20 minute set each night in that room.
La La Land is run by Lindsay May and Christa Couture and the slot from 2:00-3:00am is a song circle with myself, Lindsay, Emma Cloney, and Qristina and Quinn Bachand.
Looking forward to some mighty music-making!
