Where the tall trees grow

After spending much of these fall days driving across the United States, it’s been really nice to spend some time back in Canada in the land of the great big trees – Vancouver Island. If anyone truly knows Forest Fires, it’s the province of British Columbia.

I have a couple of house concerts remaining on the island this week, and then I fly home to pick up a new rental car and drive it across the Midwest again to Iowa City for the Folk Alliance Region Midwest conference, where I’ll be showcasing.
Tickets are on sale now for my Toronto FULL BAND CD release show on November 16 at Burdock. This is a rare chance to see me play with these excellent musicians and the space is cozy, so advance tickets are recommended. Get yours here.
If you’re up early this Sunday morning, tune into CBC Radio One between 6:00am and 6:30am to hear Never Enough on Fresh Air.
Thanks again to all the radio hosts who have been playing the new album and bringing me into the studio. Forest Fire was #18 on the folk-dj Top Albums of September 2017 and #2 out of all the Canadian releases. I appreciate the #radiolove!

Midwest month

Had some wacky weather last week in New York and Massachusetts – it started in the sweltering heat, then dropped 30 degrees.
Kind folks and radios led the way this time. If you missed my performance on the Folk Revival on WICN, it’s available on the podcast online until October 12.
Or read Geoff Wilbur’s review of the live event here!
I head westward today, with shows in Indiana, Michigan, and Illinois. I’ll be singing this song on the way:
