Pass the breath mints

I hear that garlic has all kinds of medicinal properties – it’s an excellent source of manganese and vitamin B6, a very good source of vitamin C, and a good source of selenium. I’ll be surrounded by garlic on Sunday when I play the Stratford Garlic Festival at 11:45am. I’m hoping its anti-viral benefits will help me kick this summer cold.
North Ontario was beautiful and heartwarming and genuine, like the people who live there. I loved exploring St. Joseph Island after a packed house at their town hall the night before. Here’s a new painting of the view from the rest stop just before the St. Joseph Island Bridge.

The fall tour is in full swing now and I’ll be around Ontario and the east coast in the next few weeks. Would you like to see me play in your town? Drop me a line and let’s set up a concert!

Even a rainy Saturday couldn’t bring down the audience at Summerfolk last weekend. The hearty crowd in Owen Sound was rewarded with a festival-perfect day on Sunday. Here’s a photo from the dynamic “Six Strings and Truth” workshop on Sunday afternoon with Adam Crossman, Olivier Rondeau, and Tim Edey.

Next week, I make my way to northern Ontario, with shows in Barrie, South River, Richards Landing, and Thessalon. The last time I was up in the Soo area, I got to hike to beautiful Aubrey Falls. I later wrote an instrumental guitar piece inspired by that hike, which can be found on Apartments for Lovers. Here’s a painting of the falls, which I’ll have for sale at the merch table, along with my new album.
