Gently down the stream

I’m joining the many folks who are working from home these days. I’ll be broadcasting two live concerts from my apartment via Facebook Live in the coming days. Tune in by going to my Facebook Page at the concert time and look for the “Live” icon:

FRIDAY, APRIL 3
Facebook Live : Presented by FemFolk UK
Time: 8:30pm EDT
Admission: FREE!
But you can donate to me on PayPal or to FemFolk
who provide paid performance opportunities, reviews, and other support to women, non-binary, trans, or intersex musicians and artists. All proceeds will go to artists, reviewers, and creating more opportunities, in that order.
This full set will feature old songs that I hardly ever play anymore, songs that never made it onto recordings, and other treats. I might require some help remembering the lyrics, so I hope you’ll join me and jump in when I need you.

Hope Lives

Things have changed a lot.

I returned home early from my US tour in March. My tour dates until the end of April are all cancelled. May and June are still up in the air. We are all adjusting to these unsettling times amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

I have been in self-isolation since I returned from my tour, as per the instructions from Public Health regarding travel outside of Canada. I am home, I am safe, and I am healthy. And for that I am immensely grateful.

I was supposed to be in the studio this week and had some important sessions scheduled for my new album. I’m not sure when they will happen. I’m not sure what this means for the timing of my release, or my work as a touring artist. Right now, all we can do is wait.

Today – Friday, March 20 – Bandcamp is giving 100% of sales on their website to artists, instead of taking their usual cut. You can check out my most recent album on Bandcamp.

Since it might be longer than I thought before I can share all this new music with you, here’s a sneak peek. From my living room, in self-isolation, Hope Lives:
