Conference season

The weather’s perfect for biking. The leaves are at their height of crunchiness beneath hiking booted feet. There’s cider on the stove and stew in the oven. But I’ll be putting all that on pause for a few days to dive into the Folk Music Ontario conference in Mississauga.
I’ll be performing in several showcases, engaging in business meetings with the Export Development Program, and indulging in lots of live music.
If you’re at the conference, pick up one of my promo cards – choose your favourite Canadian scene and come out to a showcase!

Leavin’ Alberta

I’m heading to the airport soon, flying back home after this Alberta tour. The last time I was in the province, I was riding trains and Greyhound buses. This time, I rented a car and saw more of Alberta than I ever had before. From the badlands to the canyons in dinosaur country, to prairie fields, to downtown Calgary, to the mountains in Banff and Lake Louise. I met some wonderful people along the way, all working to bring art and music and food and a social conscience to their communities.

Next up is the Folk Music Ontario conference in Toronto in October. Four days packed with workshops, showcases, panels, and jams – the annual Folk Family Reunion.
