Decades and decadence

I kicked off the twenty twenties singing a new song live on WFMT in Chicago, sharing the stage and the airwaves with a room full of musicians and music fans.

I spent the rest of January hard at work at home and in the studio, writing new songs and getting ready to record my next album. All this time to create has felt decadent, frivolous, selfish even. It was such a rare opportunity to experiment, to fail, to improvise, to collaborate, and to revel in it all. This new project will start to come together over the next few months, but in between I’ll be hitting the road again for some live shows. See you in Florida in February!

Bring on the new year

I’ve been writing a lot for the past month. I’m immensely grateful to the Toronto Arts Council for the generous grant that has helped to support my new project.

I’ll be emerging from my creation cocoon to ring in the new year in Chicago at the Midnight Special New Year’s Eve celebration at WFMT’s studio. I’ll be playing songs in the round with John McCutcheon, Crys Matthews, and Greg Greenway. Tickets are available here and include the concert, as well as food, drinks, and a midnight champagne toast! You can also tune in live starting at 9:30pm CST at 98.7 FM in Chicago or online.

More to come in 2020!
