I had the opportunity to attend Folk Canada‘s Folk Music Ontario conference in Ottawa. I grew up in the folk music scene in Ottawa, back in the days of Rasputin’s Cafe, the Ottawa Folklore Centre (where I bought my first acoustic guitar – that I still play at all my gigs!), and the Ottawa Folk Festival. I attended my first folk music conference in that same spot in Ottawa back in 2008. It was great to reconnect with old friends, meet new ones, and revisit the charm and wild energy of the late-night hotel room showcases:
My fall is quieter on the touring front to allow for more writing time. I’m gathering up more and more new songs and making plans for how I’ll share them. Join the mailing list if you want to be the first to know all about that.
