Folk music conferences are funny little ecosystems. Hundreds of like-minded folks packed into a hotel, all working together to help further their practice. Posters everywhere. Lots of hugging. Music popping up in every corner. No sleep.
I just returned from the Northeast Regional Folk Alliance conference in Kerhonkson, NY. While I would have loved to walk down to the peaceful lake or enjoy a relaxing soak in the spa’s hot tub, I was on a tight schedule of panels and showcases (with generous breaks to indulge in the great food!) One of the highlights of the weekend was getting the opportunity to perform in a songwriters’ circle with Kat Goldman and Jory Nash, hosted by acousticmusicscene.com‘s Michael Kornfeld.
I’m back in Toronto this week and I’ll be performing in this event at Lula Lounge, all for a good cause. A few tickets are still available, but we recommend you act fast!
